Sonneberg Taufling doll
This 15.5” girl certainly has the “ it factor”. Her face instantly draws you in with a warmth and sweetness not often found. She has a wax over paper mache head with a wood body with cloth covered bellows and floating twill covered joints. Her bellows work loudly. I have taken a video of them, and am happy to send it upon request as I cannot figure out how to add it to the listing. Sonneberg Taufling refers to her body style and Motschmann to the voice box mechanism creator. Her brown glass eyes resemble those of a baby doe. I love the sheen that the wax gives to her face, even with it’s cracks. She has black painted curls at the sides of her head. She was produced in the mid to third quarter of the 1800’s. Her body is in very nice condition and retains it’s complete paper label from the famous Au Nain Bleu shop in Paris France. Her chemise and bonnet have silk ribbon accents and are most likely factory original. $1199 postage paid
